A 19th-century Bavarian hunting shortsword (hirschfanger) with superbly decorated gild and blued blade. The gilt-cast brass clam-shell crossguard is featuring a cast lion, the quillons design as dog heads. The horn grip scales are fastened to the tang by three gilt-brass rivets. An original dark-brown stitched leather scabbard with gilt-cast bronze mounts. An original utility (skinning) knife with horn handle and gilt-brass pommel. The second half of the 19th century.

Condition: Excellent overall with a few scratches on the scabbard
