An unusual probably one of a kind Scottish basket-hilt sword made for a child (a boy). The basket hilt type is similar to the ones made by Robert Craig of Glasgow in 1750-1760 but probably originated from earlier Edinburgh prototypes (Bezdek "Swords and sword Makers of England and Scotland" p. 372). Marked by the maker on the forte. Early 18th cen.
