An Islamic Kurdish, Ottoman, or Turkish giant jambiya dagger. Most likely from Eastern Turkey, with strong Kurdish/Iraqi influence. The blade is of Damascus steel, slightly curved, double-edged, decorated with Arabic inscriptions in gold inlay at the forte. A characteristic form carved hilt, the scabbard is entirely made of silver over wooden scales, decorated with filigree design. 19th century.
Dimensions: L: 19 1/2 IN., (49.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good with a few cracks on the hilt
