A rare watercolor on paper by the German artist Balthasar Wigand (1771 – 1846). The inscription below: "Schlacht bei Borodino den 7. Septem 1812, wo die Franzosen 30 Generale getödtet oder verwundet waren" (Battle of Borodino on September 7, 1812, where the French killed or wounded 30 generals). The smallest details are depicted very accurately. The painting is framed in the original period frame.
