A Russian Imperial porcelain Easter egg with overglaze polychrome painting depicting Christ carrying the Cross on his shoulder. Decorated with gilding. There is an incised maker’s mark depicting a gilt Imperial Russian eagle. Complete with silver-tone stand and blue-white-red ribbon. The egg is depicted in J. Kugel’s Treasures of the Tsars book, 1998.
