An Islamic Dagestan Caucasian dagger with engraved silver mounts finished with niello. The scabbard features a crescent on the front. The hilt of a characteristic form is made of carved bone. The scabbard is hallmarked with Russian Imperial silver warrant 84, and the maker’s mark two Cyrillic letters ASH. The blade is of a flatten-diamond shape with a single fuller on each side. Ca. 1900.
Dimensions: L: 19 in., (48 cm.)
Condition: Very good, the scabbard shows no dents, the niello is well preserved, the blad is in its original condition and doses not appear to be re-sharpened
