A Chinese Jian sword with a scabbard. Late Qing Empire or the Early Republic. Jian with a straight, double-edged blade, carved grip. The crossguard, the pommel of the grip are decorated with engraved openwork patterns depicting a dragon. The blade is covered with elaborate silver inlay on both sides. The lacquered wood scabbard is adorned with tracery bronze overlays with suspension rings for attaching to the belt.
Dimensions: L: 33 in., (84 cm.)
Condition: Very good, one sword is missng
