Superb sword, this type of swords were presented among the German aristocracy. Blue sharkskin wrapped grip wound with triple twisted wire, gilded brass hilt with magnificent fine deep chiseling, lion’s head with ruby inlaid eyes, shield for engraving owners’ initials on the handle spine, D-shaped guard with an attached family crest in silver, obverse languet has an applied set of Uhlan lances. The damascened blade stamped on the rib "M. NEUMANN BERLIN HOFLIEFERANTM." Hof Lieferant designation stands for the royal permission to be a supplier to the Royal Hohenzollern Palace in Berlin for Kaiser Wilhelm. Ref.
