A very fine molded and chiseled bronze figurine of the goddess Lakshmi as Padmavati. Lakshmi is one of the forms of the Divine Mother, the goddess of fortune and wealth. She is depicted with four hands, two of which are holding a lotus, and the third pour out gold coins, which symbolize prosperity. The fourth hand is extended forward in a gesture of blessing. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty. Lakshmi sits on a blossoming lotus flower, the throne of divine truth. 18th-century.
