Bayonet for the 8 mm. Mauser Gewehr 98 rifle. This was the first pattern example of the M1884/98 knife bayonet. Ricasso marked by "Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co. Solingen" and "Crowned ERFURT" on obverse, Blade spine spine is stamped with Crowned W inspection mark over "89" manufacturing date. Original leather scabbard with steel fittings.
