Sword bayonet for the 8 mm. Mauser Gewehr 98. First pattern example of the M1898, known as the a/A (alter Art = older model), with the scarce one-piece wood grip. Stamped on ricasso by the manufacturer "Crowned ERFURT." Dated 1901.
