Impressive white biscuit figurine The Discus Thrower, designed in 1931 by Ottmar Obermaier (German, 1883 – 1965) manufactured by Rosenthal. Circa 1937. Marked on the base with the Allach porcelain factory hallmark and the model number: 1535 H.
The stamp on the verso means it was in the Allach Sample Collection, rather than a produced piece by them, submitted to them by the artist Obermaier who worked for them and others.
