Russian Imperial silver cross covered with red guilloche enamel and white enamel. Probably it is the distinctive sign of the sisters of mercy. Hallmarks: 84 silver standard next to a female head in a kokoshnik turned to the right; the maker’s initials: "V.D."(Cyrillic). Complete with a gold-tone chain. Circa 1900.
Dimensions: L (cross): 3 x 2 3/8 in., (7.6 x 6 cm.)
Condition: very good, some enamel wear on one side of the cross
