A fine French courts word with a triangular blade. Mother of Pearl grips, gilded bronze chiseled shell guard, pommel, and scabbard mounts. The sword would belong to a member of the Institut d’Egypte or Egyptian Scientific Institute (a learned society in Cairo specializing in Egyptology).
Dimensions: L: 38 3/16 in., (97 cm.)
Condition: Good overall, clean blade, scabbard tip is missing.
