Sudanese sword with silver mounted hilt, broad double-edged blade with narrow fullers on either side and struck with symbols imitating the early Germanic markings found on some early broad sword blades often used by Sudanese sword makers. Patina and some pitting to the steel. Traditional-style embossed leather scabbard with silver fittings. Mid to late 19th century.
