This oil on wood panel painting depicts a French Chasseur soldier on a horseback, the Second French Empire period, the mid 19th century. A Chasseur D’Afrique, light cavalry (Chasseurs à cheval) troops, trained for rapid action. No visible signature. Housed in an ornate gilt wood and gesso frame.

Dimensions: 10 x 8 in., (25.4 x 20.3 cm.)
