A scarce/rare French foot artillery short sword from 1816, manufactured in August 1831 by the "Manufacture Royale de Klingenthal". A brass one-piece pommel grip and crossguards, pommel grip with scale pattern. The scabbard is from the original 1816 model, not 1831. The French model of 1816 and 1831 was used by the confederacy during the American civil war.
Dimensions: L: 26 3/16 in., (66.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good.
