An antique Indian hand-forged elephant goad, or ankus. A steel hook and square pointy spike are attached to the shaft and held in place by rivets surrounded by brass rosettes. With two brass hanging bells attached. The wooden painted shaft terminates in a steel final with rings. 19th century.
Dimensions: L: 24 5/8 in., (62.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good.
