An antique German gold 1 Ducat coin was issued by the Electorate of Saxony, German states during the reign of Johann Georg I in 1617 commemorating the centenary of the reformation. On the obverse, it features the bust of the duke to the right in a coronation robe with a sword on the shoulder, while the shield of four-fold arms, with a central shield of electoral Saxony in front, divides the date. The reverse holds the bust of Frederick III facing right with a sword on the shoulder, the shield of 2-fold arms of electoral and ducal Saxony in front divides 15 and 17. Weight: 3.4 gr., 12 oz.
