A large Presentation Vase to Gerhard Bremer on the occasion of him receiving the Oakleaf to the Knight’s Cross. One side is dedicated in German:
To Our Gerhard Bremer
12th SS Tank Regt "Hitlerjugend" on receiving the Oakleaf
November 26, 1944
On the back of the Vase shows a King Tiger Tank.
SS Sturmbannführer Gerd Bremer was a successful Tank Commander
in the 12th "SS Panzer Division HITLERJUGEND’
The award of the Oakleaf was for extreme bravery and personal leadership
for getting his troops out of the Falaise gap and saving the retreat of the
5th Panzer Army in 1944. After the ‘Ardenne Offensive’ and the Battle for Budapest
and Lake Balaton, he ended the war with the 12th SS "Hitlerjugend" Division in St. Poelten.
He later retired in Spain. Dimensions: H: 16 7/16 in., (41.7 cm.)
Condition: Excellent.
