A Russian naval officer’s award dirk "For Bravery", WWI. The pommel is of a flattened ball form with a protruding rim featuring an enamel miniature of St. George’s Cross order. On both sides of the crossguard, there is an inscription in Cyrillic "For Bravery". The top fitting has an engraved monogram of the owner: "ML" in Cyrillic. The four-side fullered diamond-shaped blade is decorated with an etched Impartial Russian double-headed eagle. Features an original tassel made of orange and black silk with a solid core knot, and braided silver thread.
Dimensions: L: 17 1/2 in., (44.5 cm.)
Condition: Good overall, scabbard leather shows soame wear, the blade is very lightly pitted toward the tip.
