Lohar from Afghanistan, 19th century. An earlier example with a fixed blade, a robust head, and a haft forged of steel with elaborate brass inlay to the obverse. The polished, profiled horn grip with engraved brass mounts. Light wear overall. Such picks were used against British mounted units to great effect during the Afghan Wars.
Dimensions: L: 12 in., (30 cm.)
Condition: Good overall with signs of wear with age.
