A Chinese sword dao, Qing dynasty, 19th century. A slightly curved broad blade double-edged towards the point, formed with a full-length fuller and a shorter fuller along the back edge on each face, On the ricasso are gilded hieroglyphs. Ferrule and pommel each decorated beautiful relief decor with silver plated. Wooden handle wrapped in fishskin-covered and cloth on top. The fishskin-covered wooden scabbard with silver-plated fittings is decorated with beautiful relief decor.
Dimensions: L: 38 3/16 in., (97 cm.)
Condition: Good overall, scabbard is a later replacement.
