A rare German WW2 bronze Azad Hind medal, one of the decorations instituted by Subhas Chandra Bose while in Nazi Germany, initially for the Indian Legion, to be awarded for gallantry in the field of battle. On the obverse: a head of a lion turned left above the legend Azad Hind with a three petalled lily underneath. On the reverse: a legend Indias War for Freedom written in German, superimposed over crossed bars and rays. Above the medal, there are crossed swords mounted to a suspension ring. In a silver finish.
