Japanese WW2 Naval Kai-Guto officer’s katana made by Hattori Masahiro. 25 5/6 in. nagasa. The tsuka has ray skin under the silk wrap. This IJN kai-gunto sword has a black lacquer saya. All fittings have matching assembly numbers. The number stamped on each fitting is ‘557’. Made at Takayama Prison Forge.
Dimensions: L: 37 3/4 in., (96 cm.), blade length: 33 1/2 in., (85 cm.)
Condition: Very good, small cracks on the scabbard lacquer.
