An Indian painted hide shield (dhal) for a woman, 19th century. Of a shallow convex form, the outer surface is painted with dark and light-brown colors decorated with four brass bosses. The inner surface is painted with light-brown color and retains four rings for enarmes.
Dimensions: D: 9 in., (23 cm.)
Condition: Very good considering the age.
