A Russian Imperial gilt bronze miniature Order of Saint Anna in gold. The badge features a red enameled cross in a circle surmounted by the Russian Imperial crown. Hallmarked on the reverse with IK in Latin for the manufacturer, anchors for St. Petersburg, and 56 gold-proof marks. Late 19th or the early 20th century. Footnote: The Imperial Order of Saint Anna was a Holstein ducal and then Russian imperial order of chivalry. It was established by Karl Friedrich, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp, on 14 February 1735, in honor of his wife Anna Petrovna, daughter of Peter the Great of Russia.
