ANTIQUE ARMS, ARMOR AND MILITARY DECORATIONS
Lot 190:
A rare straight double fullered blade with inspection marks including "AP" (workshop – Atelier de precision), these blades were used by the inspectors of the factories (Order of August 1, 1794) to do their work. Brass hilt with the three-bar guard, the ribbed leather-covered grip is wound with twisted wire, stamped on the guard with "VERSAILLES" and oval with "B" production at the factory of Nicolas-Noel Boutet of Versailles. Original leather scabbard with brass chape and fittings with suspension rings.
