Circa 1846 Gladius M1816 was made for the National Guard with a rooster (emblem of King Louis Philippe 1830-1848). The scabbard is original. Ref: Les Sabres Portes par l’Armee Francaise (French edition), 2001 Jean Lhoste, p # 82, plate # 63.
Dimensions: L: 25 9/16 in., (65 cm.)
Condition: Very good. Blade has some chips on edges.
