American US 1852 pattern Navy officers’ dress sword. Highly decorative sword in excellent condition. Stainless steel blade etched with anchors, eagle, stars, U.S.N., etc. Star of David proof mark. The name R H Abrahamson (probably a liaison officer who served as a lieutenant in 1940) is inscribed on the right side of the blade. Gilt brass hilt with pierced guard with acorn and oak leaf designs and letters U.S.N. Eagle and star decorated pommel. Wire-wrapped imitation sharkskin grip. Leather and gilded brass scabbard with rope motif furniture. Gilt sword knot.
