Gilt brass knight-helmet-shaped pommel and cross guard featuring an American Eagle, ebony grip with an inserted brass cross, straight double-edged blade engraved with floral designs and crosses, ricasso, and scabbard are marked by "AMES MFG. CO. CHICOPPEE MASS" Brass scabbard with two suspension rings, decorated with engraved cross and inscription "IN HOC SIGNO VINCES" ("In this sign, thou shalt conquer").
