Lot 273:
A large quama dagger with a wide blade with one deep fuller on each side. The blade features an Islamic cartouch on the front side, and the hilt of characteristic form is made of two polished horn scales fastened to the tang by three steel rivets. The sheath is made of wooden scales covered in black leather. Iran, 19th cen.
Dimensions: L: 26 1/2 in., (67.5 cm.)
Condition: The blade shows signs of pitting, the scabbard is slightly worn, and the tip is missing.
