A Nazi German WW2 Breast badge of the 5th Don Cossack Regiment. Die struck in aluminum with an enamel finish. The obverse bears the regimental designation and date it was founded together with the commander surname Kononov in Cyrillic. Complete with a screwback fitting to the reverse. The 5th Don Cossack Cavalry Regiment was the first completely Russian unit, with its own officers, to fight for the Germans.

Condition: Good, rusting , enamel in good shape
