Lot 435:
A fine and very detailed cast bronze plaque in high relief depicting Napoleon Crossing the Alps after the famous painting by Jacques-Louis David (French, 1748 – 1825). The surface is covered with deep brown patination. Cast to lower left: BONAPARTE HANNIBAL and KAROLUS MAGNUS. Housed in its original Empire-style gilt-bronze frame with an eagle figure on the top.
Dimensions: 12 5/8 x 8 1/4 in., (32 x 21 cm.)
Condition: Very good with nice patima.
