A German 1870 First Class Iron Cross badge with a blackened magnetic iron core and a ribbed silver frame. The obverse of the cross features a raised central W cipher for King Wilhelm II, re-institution date 1870 to the bottom arm, and a King’s crown to the top arm. With a vertical pinback, a barrel hinge, and a rounded catch. Marked with Johann Wagner and Sohn and 14 loth silver proof, which is equivalent to 875, hallmarks.
