In gilt and patinated tombac oak leaf wreath with the National Eagle at its apex, side-view of a destroyer in silver-grey, the reverse is marked by the manufacturer "Schwerin, Berlin 68", a horizontal tapered back pin and hinge and a crimped flat wire catch. Designed by Paul Carsberg of Berlin. Worn on the lower part of the left breast pocket of the naval service tunic.
