After Aleksander Orlowski (Polish, 1777–1832), oil on tin panel painting depicting a Russian Cossack horseback. The panel marked to the back. Framed. Circa the late 19th century. Aleksander Orlowski was a painter and sketch artist, and a pioneer of lithography in the Russian Empire. His works include countless sketches of everyday life in Poland and Russia, and scenes from the Kosciuszko Uprising and other Polish wars.
Dimensions: 13 in. x 16 1/2 in., (33.5 x 41.5 cm.)
Condition: Good, signes of restorations under black light.
