A German iron spiked dog collar designed to prevent a throat from attack by wolves and other wild animals while hunting. Also, this kind of collar was worn by guardian dogs protecting sheep herds. With two rings mounted to the sides. Circa the late 18th or the early 19th century.

Condition: Good, rusted over time.
