A Civil War cavalry sword M1860 was probably made by W. H. Horstmann & Sons with a slightly curved single-edged etched Damascus steel blade decorated with gilding and bluing, the blade is lettered "Iron Proof", "US" and "e pluribus unum". The grip is wrapped with gilt twisted wire. An American Eagle is pierced on on the gilded pommel handguard. Metal scabbard with two suspension rings.A rare example in excellent condition.
