A Russian Imperial Order of Saint George, 4th class. The order features a white enameled gilt bronze cross with a central medallion with St. George slaying the dragon. The reverse is a hand-painted Cyrillic monogram of SG for Saint George.Late 19th — early 20th century.Footnote: The Order of Saint George was originally established on 26 November 1769 as the highest military decoration of the Russian Empire for commissioned officers and generals by Empress Catherine the Great.
