The tang is signed as follows: "Made by Kanetatsu, who lives in Seki, in Noshu." (濃州関に住む兼達) Blacksmith Kanetatsu (Kanemura Tatsuo) was born in 1913. He forged blades for the Japanese Army.

This is an early 20th-century word in combat mounts.
