Delicately painted Meissen porcelain figurine of a moor with a bird. The figurine was modeled by Paul Scheurich (1883-1945) in 1922. Marked underglaze with Meissen blue crossed swords. More images will be added in the next few days. Paul Scheurich was a German painter, sculptor and graphic designer. From 1918 to 1936, he created a series of exceptional designs for the Meissen Porcelain Factory. Scheurich is considered one of the most prominent porcelain sculptors of the first half of the 20th century.
Dimensions: H: 8 3/4 in., (22 cm.) Base: 5 1/4 x 4 in., (13 x 10 cm.)
