Probably France, 2nd half 19th century.
Of an amphora form, the body is flanked by acanthus scroll handles with matte gilt relief of Neoclassical face masks. The flared neck, front and back sides are painted throughout with foliage, vine and floral garland ornaments on the beige ground surrounding the central composition of beautifully painted flowers on one side and fruits on the other. Raised on a gilt square base. A paper label inscribed ‘Erbschaft Coburg’ is attached to the bottom. Apparently unmarked.
H: 22 1/2 in., (57 cm.)
Condition: The vase is in very good condition. Some wear and rubbing to gilding.
