An M1845 helmet for officers of the Life Guard Infantry. Black leather body lacquered (brittle). Gilt fittings, the emblem with frosted gold plating (crown damaged) depicting a coat of arms enameled in blue, flanked by two lions and set in the collar of the Order of the Seraphim. Convex chinscales, yellow silk cockade. Leather liner with remnants of gold embossing.
