Civil War M1852 US Naval officer’s sword and scabbard by Horstmann & Sons, PA. The blade is etched for two-thirds of its length with naval ships on one side and the USN and anchors. The blade is clean with very minor expected signs of wear, with the original buff leather washer. The sharkskin grip and wire wrap are excellent. The original sharkskin scabbard is in good condition. The pommel is engraved with an anchor, and the scabbard throat features a brass plaque with "Horstmann and Sons Makers Philadelphia".
L: 34 1/2 in., (87.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall, all parts are tight. The blade is in excellent condition, the original gilding is partially lost.
