AUCTION 43: ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOR
Lot 362:
A Colt model 1849 pocket pistol with matching serial number ‘160973’ across all parts, indicating production in 1860. The bore is 5mm in diameter and has a small chip on the top. The cylinder is marked with a ‘U.S. Patent’ stamp and also has two circular marks that are difficult to make out. The barrel is marked ‘{Address Saml Colt New York City}’. The left side of the pistol is stamped ‘Colts Patent’. All mechanisms are in working condition. There is minor wear on the wooden handle grip scales. The brass furniture is in good condition, with only minor wear, and the steel components have some rust and pitting consistent with their age.

Condition: Good condition overall, with minor wear consistent with age and use. There is a small chip on the top of the bore.
