AUCTION 43: ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOR
Lot 5:
An officer’s purple ‘moire’ silk sash commemorating service in the Spanish Civil War. The ends are decorated with large and ostentatious tassels and held together with a brass clasp embossed with the years ‘1936-1939’ contained within a border of decorative branches. It is in its original leather lined box with brass clasps, which retains the label of the manufacturer "Hijo de B. Castells" of Barcelona.
L: folded: 42 in., (106.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good. Minor creasing on the sash from being folded in the box for so long.
