Earlier War modified steel helmets from the bomber crew before SSK 90 and LKH W helmets. Modified to allow headphones and with a special liner that matches others known of this type.
Ludwig Baer’s helmet book has a similar helmet with an identical liner from Kampfgeschwader 35.
