After Aleksander Orlowski (Polish, 1777–1832), oil on tin panel painting depicting a Russian Cossack horseback. The panel is marked to the back. Framed. Circa the late 19th century. Aleksander Orlowski was a painter and sketch artist and a pioneer of lithography in the Russian Empire. His works include countless sketches of everyday life in Poland and Russia, and scenes from the Kosciuszko Uprising and other Polish wars.
