ЖИВОПИСЬ И ДПИ
Лот 31:
This is a bronze bust of Rus Prince Andrey III by famed French sculptor Félix Chopin (1813-1892). Chopin, who had moved to Saint Petersburg in 1838, designed many impressive bronzes during his lifetime, including a series of busts of Russian rulers, of which this is an example. The bust is set atop a porphyry column. Chopin’s signature and a commemorative mark with the year 1868 can be found on the back of the bust.
H: 12 in. (30.48 cm.);
Condition: The only flaw to note is that the small cross that once adorned Andrey’s hat was removed at some point. There is an old sticker attached to the rear of the column which is partially torn.
